In these times, life is very fast and busy. We don't take time to stop and smell the roses and our spirits are withering from lack of grace and real pleasure in our lives. Leaving behind the pressures of modern life doesn't seem possible, yet one by one we are feeling called to find a better way.
We know that a few days of vacation is just a band aid. What we really need is to learn how to live without tension and strain;To be in grace and peace with whatever life brings, while remaining deeply present to smell the roses. In fact it will be the roses who anchor us into this new state of grace. The programs and retreats at the Earthwalk Center are designed to help us learn to live in this way.
One aspect of our current state of consciousness, is a deep separation from our ground of being in the natural world. There is a whole new field of research called eco-psychology that is looking at much of our modern dis-ease in these terms.
A reconnection to the Natural world is surprisingly healing but we need help re-entering this realm, we have left it so completely.
There is an art and practice to "communing" with nature. We must learn to open our senses and receive into our presence and awareness, this banquet of beauty, radiance and spirit. It is chicken soup for the soul. It is a secret portal to the spiritual realms. It is what will help restore us.
We are starving to death in an infinite sea of energy and wondering why we are so drained, stressed out and exhausted. We were not meant to live so disconnected from Nature.
Retreats are a way of freeing ourselves by stepping out of the hypnotic mass consciousness of our culture. They create a cocoon of sacred space/time where we can let ourselves relax all the way into the core of our being. On the way we may encounter and transform something wounded and negative within us. As we go, we are held, taught, comforted and given strength by the wonders and beauty's of nature; the interplay of the elements and their enchantment; the light of the Sun and the Moon and the Stars. As we go we discover the same awesome and mysterious beauty within us.
We open and are filled with the deep pleasures of life. Life living through us revels in its joyful astonishments. The forest at the Earthwalk Center is able to invoke something already within us that is the magic we have been longing for.
Retreats at the Earthwalk Center are enchanted, full of grace and stunning surprise. The love from the forest here is quite palpable.
